A tree lighting tradition in Beaver Creek
Vail, CO, Colorado
BEAVER CREEK, COLORADO ” The holiday season is here and it’s family time again in Bachelor Gulch. This afternoon the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch will host its fourth annual holiday tree lighting ceremony. Local families and guests are invited to celebrate the season around the fire pit with the Mountain Harmony Carolers.
“The Bachelor Gulch tree lighting is a fun family event that kicks off the holiday season,” said Steven Holt, director of public relations.
New this year as part of The Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints program, Habitat for Humanity will be promoting its “Help Build a Home for the Holidays” program. In exchange for a donation, each guest will get the chance to select from a table of individually-wrapped presents. Inside each gift box is a chance to receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant, shop or the grand prize of a $250 gift certificate redeemable at The Ritz-Carlton worldwide.
“Habitat is ever grateful to The Ritz-Carlton’s support of our efforts to build simple, decent homes with families in need,” said Barbara Scrivens, Vice President of the Valley’s Habitat for Humanity chapter. “It is a perfect time to be thankful for our numerous blessings and to share with others who are less fortunate.”
The Bachelor Gulch community is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build a house in Edwards and is well on their way in raising funds to enable ground-breaking this spring. Last Summer, the Bachelor Gulch Club and homeowners hosted neighborhood events to help the fundraising efforts in partnership with The Ritz-Carlton’s support and brought together teams of volunteers to work on Habitat homebuilding days.
“The Habitat partnership really draws the Bachelor Gulch community together,” Holt said. “It has created perfect synergy as everyone enjoys the opportunity to give back to our community, which has gives so much to them.”
