Sid Barcelona, Jon Horvath, Rob Myers and Steve Raskin are the masterminds behind the group. They established Fort Knox Recordings in 2003 to release music that crosses tempos and defies genres. Their sound interweaves live instrumentation with funky electronic breakbeats. They have done dozens of remixes, including mixes for A. Skillz and Krafty Kuts, Kraak & Smaak, Deekline & Wizard, and Malente as well as remixes for the legendary Tito Puente, Louis Armstrong and Bob Marley.Three of the members of Fort Knox Five are also in Thunderball – Myers, Raskin and Barcelona. Since the Washington, D.C.-based trio’s inception in 1997, their productions have shifted between the genres of drum n’ bass, dub and downtempo. The opening act tonight All Good Funk Alliance is Frank Cueto and Rusty Belicek. The duo has opened up for the legendary James Brown, written songs for Coca-Cola and appeared on the Breakspoll Top 50 list.
