ABBA tunes come alive in Beaver Creek
Vail, CO, Colorado
BEAVER CREEK ” You know the songs. Whether they bring you back to your days in the disco, or whether you fell in love with the music after seeing the Broadway hit (and recently released box office smash) “Mama Mia,” the timeless rock-pop music of ABBA has been a force on the American music scene for decades. The beloved songs will come to life tonight in Beaver Creek when ABBA tribute band, Arrival, takes the Vilar Performing Arts Center stage at 8 p.m.
Arrival’s show, titled “The Music of ABBA,” pays homage to the high-energy rock songs of the band. The all-live, 12-person show is the most accurate tribute to ABBA available. Arrival has exclusive permission from original ABBA wardrobe designer Owe Sandström to use identical versions of ABBA’s authentic outfits. The band has two original ABBA members ” guitarist Finn Sjöberg and drummer Roger Palm.
Arrival performs all of ABBA’s greatest hits with authenticity and authority, including “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” “Mama Mia” and “Take a Chance on Me,” to name a few.
“We fully expect our audience to be dancing in their seats ” probably even dancing in the aisles,” said Vilar executive director Kris Sabel. “Seeing shows like ‘The Music of ABBA’ at the Vilar Center presents a wonderful opportunity to enjoy this beautiful theatre, all while hearing some of the best ABBA tribute music out there. Especially with the recent release of the movie ‘Mama Mia,” now is a great time to celebrate the musical legacy of ABBA.”
Tickets for “The Music of ABBA” with Arrival are $68 and are available by calling the Vilar Center Box Office at 970-845-TIXS(8497) or by visiting http://www.vilarpac.org.
