Vail Comedy Show returns to Eagle River Brewing Company in Gypsum on Thursday with Mountain Fresh Comedy Festival. The late-night television comedy-themed festival will be in Gypsum, Frisco and Georgetown this year.
Thursday night’s show will feature Adam Cayton-Holland, who first headlined the Vail Comedy Show at Bridge Street Bar in October 2021 and performed at Mango’s in Red Cliff in July 2024.
Cayton-Holland is a nationally touring headliner out of Denver, where he has thrown an opening pitch for the Colorado Rockies. He is the author of “Tragedy + Time” which was published by Simon and Schuster, covered by the New York Times and won the 2019 Colorado Book Award for Creative Non-Fiction. Deadline was the first to report on the book’s conversion to a family drama movie. That film called “See You When I See You” is now in post-production and stars David Duchovny. Cayton-Holland wrote the screenplay.
Cayton-Holland has seven comedy albums and has appeared on Comedy Central, “CONAN” and “The Late Late Show” with James Corden.
“When you think of comedy in Colorado, it is hard to come up with a name more influential than Adam. He is funny, kind and an excellent birder,” said Mark Masters, the founder of Mountain Fresh Comedy Festival. “His work with the comedy group The Grawlix and the High Plains Comedy Festival inspired me to start Vail Comedy Show and Vail Comedy Festival. We are very lucky to have him in Gypsum at Eagle River Brewing Company and I hope the community turns out in droves for a night that will be full of laughs.”

Mountain Fresh Comedy Festival runs Oct. 9 -11 with a special movie screening on the eve of the festival at Highside Brewing in Frisco on Oct. 8. “Anxiety Club” (2025) is a documentary film by Wendy Lobel exploring mental health issues through the lens of comedians. Mark Masters Comedy and Building Hope Summit County have partnered to provide free community tickets to anybody who wants one, with a goal of reducing the stigma of talking about mental health.
The comedy festival features two other nights of stand-up comedy in Colorado mountain towns. On Friday, Zack Chapaloni, a paid regular at the Comedy Store from Los Angeles, will headline in Frisco. On Saturday, Jenny Zigrino, a 2024 Vail Comedy Festival headliner who starred in a movie with Billy Bob Thornton and Kathy Bates, will perform in Georgetown.
Support acts from around the country will also perform, including Jeffrey Baldinger (Los Angeles), Big Jake Hovis (Louisville, Kentucky), Chris Cyr (St. Louis, Missouri) and Vinny Seeram (New York City).
