Affordable home lotteries continue

Veronica Whitney

ASW Realty Partners, the developers of the 282 affordable homes at Edwards’ Miller Ranch, hold lotteries for the homes on the first Thursday of every month.

In between lotteries, people can purchase directly properties left over, but they still need to meet qualifications. To apply for the sales lottery or to purchase a home directly, potential buyers must:

1. Submit an application by March 30. Applications are available on the Miller Ranch website – http://www.millerranchhomes.com – and from the Miller Ranch Sales Office, 926-8578, 0770 Miller Ranch Rd.

2. Provide documentation of current employment and residency, including the number of years lived and worked in Eagle County.

3. Provide a pre-qualification letter from a lender. ASW’s preferred lender is Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Wells Fargo has experienced with both the town of Vail’s and Eagle County’s affordable-housing and buying-assistance programs, including the county’s Mortgage Credit Certificate program and the bank’s “zero down” program.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

4. Submit the application to ASW at the Miller Ranch Sales office. The office is open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to helping buyers at the Home Buyers Fair in March, ASW sales associates are available by appointment to help with the application process.

“Simply working in Vail or Eagle County and having 75 percent of your income come from an Eagle County business is all it takes to qualify,” said LuAnn Welch, of ASW Realty.

Additional information about Miller Ranch, the upcoming sales lotteries and the Home Buyers Fair are available at 926-8578 and on-line at http://www.millerranchhomes.com.
