AVON — The DeadPhish Orchestra is back again for its annual Agave throw down. Rock out to Grateful Dead tunes as you dance the night away today at the 21-and-older show in Avon.

DeadPhish Orchestra is made up of Colorado musicians who’ve played together for many moons. The quartet is composed of Paul Murin on guitar, Tet Tilton on keys, Brian Adams on bass and Chris Sheldon on drums. After strumming Grateful Dead and Phish tunes independently, they found themselves wondering what would happen if they merged the songs of these two infamous bands into one cohesive jam session.

The guys in DeadPhish Orchestra have posed themselves a unique challenge in merging the two styles. Set lists end up with segues that look like “Divided Sky,” “Morning Dew” or “Help/Slip/Frank” and “Frankenstein.” Or how about “Mike’s Song,” “Stella Blue” and “Weekapaug Groove.” Or even stranger, like “My Friend,” “Friend of the Devil” … or “It Must Have Been the Roses,” “Roses Are Free.”

You can see that amongst the vast repertoires of the two bands, the possibilities are endless. Learn more about the band at
