EAGLE, Colorado – A private jet had a rough landing Friday afternoon when its nose gear collapsed at the Eagle County Regional Airport.
The private Cessna Citation aircraft was landing around 2 p.m., flying in from Hot Springs, Ark. The nose gear collapsed when it touched down, said airport Aviation Director Greg Phillips.
Five people were on board including the pilot, none of whom were injured.
Phillips said aircraft skidded to a stop near the end of the runway. No fuel leaks were reported.
The runway at EGE was closed until the aircraft was removed later Friday afternoon.
No commercial flights were affected, Phillips said. The next scheduled arrival after the incident was an American Airlines flight from Dallas/Fort Worth at 6:45 p.m.
