Albert Q. Beck (Quinn), 1926-2009
Albert Q. Beck (Quinn) died Aug. 14 in Denver, of heart disease. He was 82.Lovingly known as Q, Quinn and Uncle Baldy by family, he was born on Sept. 28, 1926, in Red Cliff, the third of six boys born to Dessie and Earl Beck.After earning a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Colorado A&M, he served his country in the U.S. Navy and later the Air Force, where he met and married Doris Stanford. He worked at Boeing Commercial Airplane Company in Washington, retiring with 35 years of distinguished service, after which he returned to the place he loved most, Colorado.Quinn was a lifelong hunter and fisherman, whose greatest pleasures were his family and the mountains he called home. Beloved by many, he is survived by his sons, Larry (Geri), of Elkhorn Neb., and Greg (Denise), of Henderson Nev.; daughter Debi, of Brookline, Mass.; and grandchildren, Kendall, Virginia, Otto, and Vincent. He also is survived by elder brothers Bud and Buster, younger brothers Jack and Russell, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.The family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, http://www.rmef.org.
