EAGLE — Comedy Night at the Bowlmor returns to The Back Bowl in Eagle on Friday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m., when comedian Allan Goodwin marks his return to the comedy series after an eight-year hiatus.

Since he first appeared at The Back Bowl during the premier season of Comedy Night, “Big Al” Goodwin has established himself not just on Denver’s comedy circuit but throughout the region and beyond. He’s has been a hit at some of the top clubs in the country, including The Improv, as well as iconic comedy clubs such as Caroline’s, The Comic Strip and Dangerfield’s in New York.

His path from opener to headliner has also included successes at many of comedy’s premier talent competitions, where up-and-comers have the chance to develop their skills and gain the chops and the exposure they need to break through. Goodwin has had wins at the America’s Funniest People Contest, the Las Vegas Comedy Competition and the World Series of Comedy.

These accolades have led to spots as an opener for many of the country’s biggest names in standup, including John Stewart, Ray Romano, George Lopez, Kathleen Madigan, Dave Chapelle and others.

When he appeared on television in several comedy showcases such as “Laughs on Fox” and HBO’s “Lucky 21 Comedy Contest,” Goodwin’s stage presence was noticed by TV talent scouts, who chose him as a straight actor, culminating with an appearance in the Netflix hit “House of Cards.”

Goodwin has the ability to create a connection with his audiences through a self-deprecating style that draws upon daily experiences and observations that everyone knows and can relate to.

Denver native Christine Buchele will open this edition of Comedy Night at the Bowlmor. In addition to performing at the Crom Comedy Festival, the Hell Yes Fest in New Orleans and Denver’s High Plains Comedy Festival, Buchele has appeared on TV in Viceland’s “Flophouse” and “Hidden America.” Westword magazine recently named her podcast, “Empty Girlfriend,” best Comedy Podcast. Buchele engages audiences with a wry, biting style that is, at times, deceptively sweet and then pivots to become just a little bit surly. This is her first appearance at The Back Bowl.

Tickets are on sale now for $15 in advance and $18 on the day of the show. The Back Bowl encourages groups to take advantage of special pricing for groups of eight or more. Tickets can be purchased in person at The Back Bowl or by phone with a credit card. For more information, contact The Bowlmor Lounge at The Back Bowl at 970-328-BOWL or go to
