Alligator-like animal captured in Parachute motel

PARACHUTE, Colorado – A wandering animal was captured in Parachute on Monday, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Keith Clemons, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office’s animal control deputy, captured a 38-inch caiman, which is in the alligator family, at a motel in Parachute on Monday, the sheriff’s office said.
The reptile was later transported to Colorado Mountain College’s veterinary technology school near Glenwood Springs. The animal is believed to be a lost or released pet, according to the sheriff’s office.
