Alpine Arts Center opening soon in Vail Valley
VAIL VALLEY, Colorado –Alpine Arts Center, a Vail Valley arts facility catering to emerging and established artists of all ages, will open its brand new Edwards’ facility in March.
The 2,800-square-foot facility will host classes, open workshops, drop-in sessions, summer programs, birthday parties, exhibits, public events, and outreach programs. Classes, workshops and drop-in sessions will be offered in drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture, computer graphics, jewelry making, and arts and crafts.
Alpine Arts Center will be equipped with three separate working spaces, including an all purpose room, a children’s art space, and a room designated for ceramics and three-dimensional work. Alpine Arts Center also will work with schools, organizations, families, and businesses in the Vail Valley to provide specialized programs
“We are all so privileged to live in a community that offers us ample opportunity to stay active and in the outdoors all year round”, says owner Lauren Merrill. “But this lifestyle has contributed to many of us forgetting how important it is to have a creative outlet in our lives. My hope is that Alpine Arts Center becomes the impetus for us to realize our artistic potentials”.
Merrill, a graduate of the University of Michigan’s School of Art and Design, was an art teacher at Vail Mountain School for five years. She also has been on the board of the Eagle Valley Artists Alliance.
