Alpine Banks award J. Robert Young Scholarships

Emily Vannest of Delta High School and Peter Felde of Ouray High School have each been awarded a J. Robert Young scholarship. The scholarships administered by the Western Colorado Community Foundation.
Vannest will attend Colorado State University in Pueblo, while Felde is currently enrolled at Colorado Mountain College.
The J. Robert Young scholarship was established in 2008 by Alpine Bank employees and an executive committee to honor bank chairman, J. Robert (Bob) Young, on the bank’s 35th anniversary. The scholarship is designated for graduates of public high schools in areas served by Alpine Bank. Scholarships are based on financial need and are awarded to students seeking a business-related degree, who have a GPA of 2.75 or above and plan to attend college in Colorado.
The Western Colorado Community Foundation is a nonprofit public charity established by local community leaders in 1996. Its mission is to promote charitable giving, build and manage charitable endowment funds for community good, and provide grants, scholarships and other resources to benefit the residents and communities of western Colorado.
