American Beauty to play classic Dead shows in Vail

VAIL, Colorado –Grateful Dead cover band American Beauty, featuring Rob Eaton, made its debut in December and will play at Sandbar Sports Grill Friday night and Saturday.

The band focuses primarily on the ’70s era of the Grateful Dead’s music. Taking this concept one step further, the band selects certain engagements to showcase it’s new feature, “Legendary Dead Shows”, in which they perform Grateful Dead show that has risen over time to “legendary” status. Tonight, the band performs “Roosevelt Stadium, 8/6/74” and Saturday it’s “Hollywood Palladium, 8/6/71”.

American Beauty builds upon its previous fame as Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue with new additions on drums and keyboards, Andy Sweetser and Stef Briggs. The other three veterans of the previous band include Rob Eaton, of Dark Star Orchestra, on rhythm guitar and vocals, Dave Kochmann on lead guitar and vocals, and Jim Allard on bass and vocals.
