‘America’s Best Summer Job’ competition now underway

VAIL — This summer, America’s Best Summer Job is in Vail. The community is seeking an adventure-minded mountain enthusiast who wants to bike, hike, go to concerts, participate in events, dine in great restaurants, stay in five-star hotels and get paid for it. The online contest to find the America’s Best Summer Job winner kicks off this week at blog.vail.com/Americas-best-summer-job-vail-co and the 10-week program begins on June 2.

“Vail is truly a destination like nothing on earth,” said Beth Slifer, chair of the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council, which helped shape the job program. “We wanted to create a program that enlivens the special experience guests have when they visit our community. Having the winner work, live and play in our mountain playground is just our way of bringing the destination to life.”

Experience All Of Vail

America’s Best Summer Job runs June 2 through Aug. 10. The winner will be paid $1,000 weekly to experience all of Vail in the summertime while simply sharing his/her experiences by blogging, interacting on social media, capturing videos and more. The winner will stay in a different luxury lodging property each week, participate in events such as the GoPro Mountain Games and KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Race, zipline down Vail Mountain, review restaurants throughout Lionshead and Vail Village, as well as host happy hour events, work in the Welcome Center and more. In addition to the weekly $1,000 stipend, the winner of America’s Best Summer Job will receive a GoPro camera and a swag bag filled with Vail gear.

The search kicks off on March 5 with an online contest at blog.vail.com/Americas-best-summer-job-vail-co. Contestants must submit a one-minute video illustrating why they should be selected.
