AVON — The local Colorado Workforce center and Eagle Valley Library District have partnered to offer workshops to job seekers in the Vail Valley.

These workshops, “Network to Success,” provide a positive job search approach in a casual networking atmosphere. Workshops leaders may show videos, bring in speakers, or utilize the staff’s expertise. The networking portion of the workshop will allow participants to introduce themselves, network, and discuss interviews and share job leads and tips with other members.

The first meeting will take place at the Avon Public Library Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The topic of the day will be resumes. This workshop will consist of three parts: reviewing what makes a good resume with discussion on the Do’s and Don’ts of resumes, a networking portion where individuals will be able to meet and network with other job seekers, and a hands on component where participants can create or edit their own application documents with the help and guidance of staff. Participants are encouraged to drop by for whatever portion of the workshop they can attend. Please being any documents you already have completed.

The next meeting is Dec. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will cover interviews. A human resources professional from the town of Avon will be present to answer questions. Light refreshments will be provided at both workshops. For more information, call the Avon Public Library, 970-949-6797.
