Avon’s West Beaver Creek Blvd. gets bike lanes

AVON — The Town of Avon has restriped parts of West Beaver Creek Boulevard between Avon Road and Lake Street. The restriping on the road in front of the Avon Post Office and First Bank creates a new configuration by removing the turn lanes from Sun Road and Lake Street and replacing them with dedicated bicycle lanes. Sharrows — bike symbols — have been marked along the bicycle lanes. In addition, there are more on-street parking spaces that have been striped.

Drivers are asked to be mindful of the changes and pay attention to the new striping configuration. Contact Project Engineer Jim Horsley with any questions at jhorsley @avon.org or 970-748-4134.
