Beaver Creek announces new marketing director
BEAVER CREEK — Beaver Creek Resort announced earlier this month the appointment of Phil Metz as director of marketing. Metz will oversee all aspects of marketing for Beaver Creek, including strategic planning and resort branding, development and management of e-commerce, advertising, events marketing, strategic partnerships and liaising among key stakeholders within the greater Beaver Creek community. He will also oversee the strategic marketing for Vail Resorts Signature Clubs.
“Phil is a great addition to the Beaver Creek team,” said Doug Lovell, chief operating officer for Beaver Creek. “His knowledge of the Beaver Creek experience, culture and brand is extensive, and we’re pleased to welcome him on board.”
Metz joined Vail Resorts in 2012 after a career in luxury marketing and sales, with experience in destination resorts, high-end resort real estate, private clubs, private aviation and the yachting industry. He started his career with Vail Resorts at Vail Resorts Development Co., where he played a leadership role driving the sales and marketing strategies for The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Vail, One Ski Hill Place in Breckenridge and Vail Resorts Signature Clubs.
In 2014, Metz was appointed director of marketing for Breckenridge Ski Resort, where he played a key role driving the business results and is the architect of Breckenridge’s five-year visioning process, Breck2020.
Metz, his wife and two boys have lived in Eagle County for nearly five years. He will begin his new role at Beaver Creek Resort on Tuesday.
There are three keys to look at when deciding the bonus days: staffing, skier excitement and conditions.
