Documentary on Sunday tells story of Israeli winery

VAIL — Chabad Jewish Center of Vail will host a documentary screening of “WishMakers” Sunday with director and producer Cheryl Halpern.

“WishMakers” is the story of the Tulip winery, which was established in a residential adult special needs community called the Village of Hope.

“My parents taught me through their actions that we all have a responsibility to do what we can to make a difference, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity or religion,” Halpern said.

The winery in Israel fosters a caring environment while providing employment, dignity and purpose for the residents. Together they find joy and personal fulfillment in producing the WishMaker wine and granting the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses.

It is a special story of individuals doing for others within the range of their abilities.
