Upcoming events

• Wednesday: Blood pressure and blood sugar checks with Eagle County Paramedics, 11 a.m., Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center.



• Friday: AARP Safe Driver Class, Golden Eagle Senior Center, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants must register by calling 970-468-0295, ext. 117.

• Friday: Book Lover’s Coffee Klatch, 10:30 a.m. at the Golden Eagle Senior Center. Conversation about all things books. Coffee, tea and snacks provided.



• Friday: Zumba Gold class, Golden Eagle Senior Center, 10:30 a.m. Come try this fun new class! Zumba Gold is a Latin dance-inspired exercise class with great movement and good times. You barely even know you’re exercising!

• Monday: All are welcome for a free Senior Luncheon at the Vail Church, 11:30 a.m. Located at 39209 U.S. Highway 6, Avon. Attendees will share lunch, prizes and worship music.

• Restorative body movement class, Avon Recreation Center, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. $10.

• Parkinson Power Moves exercise class. Trinity Church basketball court in Edwards, 3:30 p.m. Based upon the PWR4life program created by Dr. Becky Farley, Ph.D. in neuroscience and pioneer ttregarding the benefit of exercise for Parkinson’s disease. This large amplitude training focuses on rigidity, bradykinesia, coordination, balance, gait and more. Not just or people with Parkinson’s — helpful for anyone looking to improve balance, coordination and strength. Taught by certified PWR4life instructors. • Parkinson’s Foundations exercise class, Golden Eagle Senior Center, 3 p.m. Class focuses on strength, balance and flexibility. Exercises are enhanced to include cognition, vocal therapy and fun. Not just for those with Parkinson’s disease — this class is beneficial for anyone who would like to improve balance, flexibility and strength.
