Mondays: Parkinson Power Moves class will be canceled every Monday from April 25-June 13 while the instructor is out of town.

• April 27: Living with Alzheimer’s, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Avon Public Library. Join us for a conversation with people who are newly diagnosed or in the early stages. We will walk through a personal workbook together to help you learn about the disease and the steps you can take to help yourself. We will discuss what you need to know, what you need to plan, and what you can do as you navigate this chapter of your life.

• Restorative body movement class, Avon Recreation Center, 12:35 to 1:35 p.m. $10.

• Full body exercise class at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 9 a.m. $2 suggested donation per class.

• Tai chi for beginners, Avon Recreation Center, 4:55 to 5:55 p.m. $10.

• Intermediate tai chi, Avon Recreation Center, 6:30 to 8 p.m. $10.

Tuesdays

• Senior lunch, Golden Eagle Senior Center, noon. $3 suggested donation. Bus transportation available. Home delivered meals available for home-bound seniors. Call 970-328-8896 for more information. Please RSVP for lunches 24 hours in advance.

• Chair-based exercise class at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 11 a.m. $2 suggested donation. This class is primarily done seated while working on strength and flexibility. Call 970-328-8896 for more information.

• Parkinson’s Foundations exercise class, Golden Eagle Senior Center, 3 p.m. Class focuses on strength, balance and flexibility. Exercises are enhanced to include cognition, vocal therapy and fun. Not just for those with Parkinson’s disease — this class is beneficial for anyone who would like to improve balance, flexibility and strength.

• Vintage Vail, Avon Recreation Center, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Free. Join the Avon Afternoon Club for a weekly gathering of games, socializing and coffee. Call 970-748-4060 for more information.

• Full body exercise class at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 9 a.m. This is a more challenging class that works all aspects of strength, coordination, balance and more. Some floor work incorporated as well. $2.00 suggested donation per class.

• Chair yoga, Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, 11 a.m. Free.

• Grocery shopping, bus leaves Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center at 12:30 p.m.

• Snowshoeing, Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, be ready to go by 10 a.m. Make sure to dress in layers and wear appropriate winter shoes. All levels welcome. If you would like to join us, call Pat at 970-328-8831.

• Power Punch for Parkinson’s boxing class. 9 a.m. at Trinity Church in Edwards. Recent physical therapy research has shown boxing to be effective in improving balance, mobility and quality of life. Hand wraps and boxing gloves provided. Call 720-320-1122 for more information
