Upcoming events:

• Today: Blood pressure/pulse/blood sugar check by Eagle County Paramedics at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 11:30 a.m.

• Today: The Conversation Project at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, Homecare and Hospice of the Valley’s Celynn McClarrinon will be leading us in a conversation dedicated to helping people talk about their wishes for end of care. 1 p.m. Call 970-328-8896 to sign up.

• Thursday: Halloween party and costume contest at lunch at the Golden Eagle. 12 p.m. Please call 24 hours in advance for a reservation.

• Friday: Halloween bingo at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 1 p.m. Fun and refreshments provided.

• Friday: Halloween party featuring “Flo’s Haunted closet” at Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, 11 a.m.; lunch served at 11:30.



• Nov. 3: Eagle Caregiver/Memory loss Support Group at Eagle Public Library 4:30-6 p.m.. Please RSVP with Pat at pat.nolan@eaglecounty.us.

• Nov. 10: Natures Holiday Gifts 1-3 p.m., Eagle River Presbyterian Church. Sponsored by Eagle Valley Senior Life, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, United Way, Eagle County Healthy Aging and Town of Vail Public Library. Have high tea, make votive candle holders, foot soaking salts and gift bags for gift-giving or to take home for yourself. Deadline to register is Nov. 3. Ongoing weekly activities

Mondays

• Senior Spot, a program of Eagle Valley Senior Life, 1-4 p.m. A caring and friendly place for seniors to connect with others and engage in fun, meaningful and safe activities. Activities stimulate emotional, physical and cognitive functioning. Held at the Eagle River Presbyterian Church. For schedule of activities, go to http://www.evslife.org or call 970-331-5355.

• Full body fitness exercise class, 9 to 10 a.m. at the Golden Eagle Senior Center in Eagle. A full body workout incorporating both seated and standing activities. Variety will be offered with hand weights, resistance tubing/bands, circuit training, balance and coordination challenges, and cardiovascular training. Suggested donation of $2 per class. Tuesdays

• Senior lunch, noon at the Golden Eagle Senior Center in Eagle, $3 suggested donation for diners 60 or older. Home pick-ups and drop-offs are available. Call 970-328-8896 for reservations and information.

• Seated stretch and strengthen exercise class, 11 a.m. to noon at the Golden Eagle Senior Center. A fully seated class, incorporating general stretching and strengthening for both upper and lower extremities. Hand weights and resistance tubing/bands will be incorporated, as will seated balance activities to help engage the core. There will be some limited cardiovascular work in this class as well. • Afternoon card game, 1 p.m.

• Transportation for errands (bank, post office, etc.). Bus leaves the Golden Eagle at 2 p.m. for this service. Call 970-328-8896.

• Joint Relief Water Class, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Avon Recreation Center. $2 per class. Call 970-328-8831 for more information.

• Water aerobics class, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Gypsum Recreation Center. $5 drop in rate. Call 970-328-8896 for more information.

Wednesdays

• Senior lunch, 11:30 a.m. at VSSA/ Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center. $2 per meal for those 60 or older. Home pick-ups and drop-offs are available, depending on location. Call 970-328-8831 for reservations.

• “Strong People” senior weight-training class at Minturn Fitness Center 10. Call Sarah Ellefson at 970-855-0492 for more information. $2.00

• Chair Yoga at Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, 11 a.m. Free.

• Grocery shopping, bus leaves Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center at 12:30 p.m.

• Move to Music, a program of Eagle Valley Senior Life, 1-4 pm. 1:30-2:15 pm. Limber up your joints, build strength and endurance, improve your balance and stretch while you move with music and have fun! • Non-medical foot care (toenail trimming and foot soaks) at the Golden Eagle Senior Center – Third Thursday of each month from 9 – 11, please call 328-8896 to sign up for a spot.

• Senior crochet group, 1 p.m. at the Golden Eagle Senior Center. Come join us as we make blankets for local infants and young children. Open to veteran crochet-ers or those just beginning. Yarn provided.

• Parkinson Support Group, held the fourth Thursday of every month at Trinity Church in Edwards from 5-6 p.m. This meeting is for Parkinson patients as well as their family and friends who are looking for support and resources in a fun and uplifting atmosphere. Most meetings include some type of educational presentation.

Fridays

• Senior lunch, 11:30 a.m. at VSSA/Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, $2 fee per meal for those 60 or older. Home pick-ups and drop-offs are available, depending on location. Call 970-328-8831 for reservations.

• Fourth Friday of every month: BINGO at the Golden Eagle, 1 p.m.
