Upcoming events

• Wednesday: Margaret “Molly” Brown Living History presentation at the Town of Vail Public Library, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Transportation available for seniors through Eagle Valley Senior Life. Molly Brown (1867-1932) is best remembered for surviving the sinking of the Titanic and contributing her time and money to the people and causes of Colorado.

• Wednesday: Poker game at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 1 p.m.



• Thursday: Non-medical foot care at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 9-11:30 a.m. First come, first served. No sign-up necessary.

• Friday: Bingo game at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 1 p.m. Five cents per card, pays out after every game, great prizes and refreshments.

Mondays

• Senior Spot, a program of Eagle Valley Senior Life, 1-4 p.m. A caring and friendly place for seniors who might need more personalized attention. Also for caregivers who benefit from additional time to address their own needs. Activities stimulate emotional, physical and cognitive functioning. Eagle River Presbyterian Church. • Men’s Discussion Group, a program of Eagle Valley Senior Life, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Connect with others and discuss interesting and stimulating topics to keep your brain working with stay young. Held at Eagle River Presbyterian Church. Call 970-331-5355 for more information.

• Full body fitness exercise class, 9 to 10 a.m. at the Golden Eagle Senior Center in Eagle. A full-body workout incorporating both seated and standing activities. Variety will be offered with hand weights, resistance tubing/bands, circuit training, balance and coordination challenges and cardiovascular training. Suggested donation of $2 per class. Tuesdays

• Senior lunch, noon, Golden Eagle Senior Center in Eagle, $3 suggested donation. Rides available. Call 970-328-8896 for reservations and information.

• Seated stretch and strengthen exercise class, 11 a.m. to noon, Golden Eagle Senior Center. Incorporates general stretching and strengthening for upper and lower extremities. Hand weights and resistance bands incorporated, as will seated balance activities to help engage the core. Some limited cardiovascular work. Suggested donation of $2 per class. Call 970-328-8896.

• Transportation for errands (bank, post office, etc.). Bus leaves the Golden Eagle at 2 p.m. for this service. Call 970-328-8896.

• Joint Relief Water Class, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Avon Recreation Center. $2 per class. Call 970-328-8831 for more information.

• Water aerobics class, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Gypsum Recreation Center. $5 drop in rate. Call 970-328-8896.

Wednesdays

• Senior lunch, 11:30 a.m. at VSSA/Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center. $2 per meal for those 60 or older. Home pick-ups and drop-offs are available, depending on location. Call 970-328-8831 for reservations.

• Nordic walking at Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, 10 a.m. Walking poles provides. Cost: Free.

• Chair Yoga at Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, 11 a.m. Free.

• Grocery shopping, bus leaves Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center at 12:30 p.m.
