Upcoming events

• Today: Non-medical foot care at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 9-11 a.m. First come, first served. No pre sign-up necessary. Call 970-328-8896 with questions.

• Wednesday: Poker game at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, 1 p.m.

• Monday: Shopping trip to Glenwood Springs. Bus will leave the Golden Eagle Senior Center at 10 a.m. Please call 328-8896 to sign up — space is limited.

• March 30: 2-4 p.m. Eagle Valley Senior Life and the Alpine Arts Center have teamed up to offer a fun with clay. An instructor will guide you through a step-by-step demonstration of the afternoon’s clay hand-building project. Tea and snacks provided; beer/wine available for purchase. Cost is $25 per person. To register, contact Wendy Miller at 970-977-0188 by March 23. Transportation available.

Mondays

• Senior Spot, a program of Eagle Valley Senior Life, 1-4 p.m. A caring and friendly place for seniors to connect with others. Balance exercises, culinary creations, music and more. Drop in for some or all of the time. Held at the Eagle River Presbyterian Church. For schedule of activities, go to http://www.evslife.org or call 970-977-0188.

• Full body fitness exercise class, 9 to 10 a.m. at the Golden Eagle Senior Center in Eagle. A full body workout incorporating both seated and standing activities. Variety will be offered with hand weights, resistance tubing/bands, circuit training, balance and coordination challenges, and cardiovascular training. Suggested donation of $2 per class. Tuesdays

• Senior lunch, noon at the Golden Eagle Senior Center in Eagle, $3 suggested donation for diners 60 or older. Home pick-ups and drop-offs are available. Call 970-328-8896 for reservations and information.

• Seated stretch and strengthen exercise class, 11 a.m. to noon at the Golden Eagle Senior Center. A fully seated class, incorporating general stretching and strengthening for both upper and lower extremities. Hand weights and resistance tubing/bands will be incorporated, as will seated balance activities to help engage the core. There will be some limited cardiovascular work in this class as well. Suggested donation of $2 per class. Call 970-328-8896 for more information.

• Non-medical foot care (toenail trimming and foot soaks) at the Golden Eagle Senior Center. Third Tuesday of each month from 9-11 a.m. Call 970-328-8896 for more info.

• Transportation for errands (bank, post office, etc.). Bus leaves the Golden Eagle at 2 p.m. for this service. Call 970-328-8896.

• Joint Relief Water Class, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Avon Recreation Center. $2 per class. Call 970-328-8831 for more information.

• Water aerobics class, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Gypsum Recreation Center. $5 drop in rate. Call 970-328-8896 for more information.

Wednesdays

• Senior lunch, 11:30 a.m. at VSSA/ Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center. $2 per meal for those 60 or older. Call 970-328-8831 for reservations.

• Chair Yoga at Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, 11 a.m. Free.

• Grocery shopping, bus leaves Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center at 12:30 p.m.

Thursdays

• Strong People progressive weight training class, 11 at the Golden Eagle Senior Center, $2 suggested donation per class. Call 970-328-8896 for more information.

• Parkinson Support Group, held the fourth Thursday of every month at Trinity Church in Edwards from 5-6 p.m. This meeting is for Parkinson patients as well as their family and friends who are looking for support and resources in a fun and uplifting atmosphere. Meetings include some type of educational presentation.

Fridays

• Senior lunch, 11:30 a.m. at VSSA/Maloit Park Senior Wellness Center, $2 fee per meal for those 60 or older. Home pick-ups and drop-offs are available, depending on location. Call 970-328-8831 for reservations.

• Book Lovers Coffee Klatch, held the second and fourth Fridays of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Golden Eagle Senior Center. This group is for book lovers to come together to talk about books, make recommendations, and learn about different genres. Coffee and snacks provided.
