Physical therapy clinic celebrates anniversary
EAGLE — Competitive Edge Physical Therapy and Fitness in Eagle recently celebrated its fourth year of getting Eagle County patients back to health, and owner Mary Witt couldn’t be happier with its success.
“This has been the most challenging and rewarding thing I’ve ever done,” Will said. “After 30 years, I still love what I do. I’m having a blast.”
Witt said Competitive Edge has seen more than 350 patients during the past four years. “We’ve had people from Eagle and Gypsum to Vail, Avon and Edwards,” she said. “I’m thrilled that former patients are sending their families and friends to me. It’s the best compliment I can receive.”
Competitive Edge uses laser therapy, kinesio taping and other modern techniques, but it’s still the hands-on approach that Witt likes best.
“I personally work with every patient every time they come in,” Witt said. “I do a lot of soft-tissue work, along with stretching and strengthening exercises. When I combine that with treatments like laser therapy and K-tape, we see some tremendous results.”
Witt treats a variety of patients.
“I’ve worked with people who’ve had knee or hip replacements, shoulder injuries, ACL repairs, hand issues, muscle strains — just about anything you can think of,” she said.
Witt added that she is seeing more patients who aren’t injured but who want to experience improvements in their athletic performances.
“I’ve been working with a lot of high school athletes over the last year, helping them to increase vertical jump, post faster running times, and be more effective at their sport,” she said. “That’s been a lot of fun, especially when I go watch them compete and see how well they do.”
