Edwards Station opens new car wash expansion
EDWARDS — Edwards Station has completed a $2 million expansion, including the installation of the new high-tech Diamond Shine Express Wash. According to a release, the car wash has tripled its volume while delivering superior results.
The new attended tunnel-style car wash was designed to meet the increased service demands at Edwards Station. The computer-aided wash uses soft foam brushes and rollers, along with reformulated, green soaps to better remove magnesium chloride in the winter and insects in the summer.
The Diamond Shine Express Wash is open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
“This is definitely a much higher quality car wash with significantly shorter wait times,” said Chris Dudar, operations manager for Edwards Station. “We are very excited to welcome both Vail Valley locals and travelers to our state of the art facility.”
The finalized re-development in addition to a completely new car wash will include:
• 15 additional customer parking spaces
• Five new customer vacuum spaces
• Improved entrance and exit, widened turning areas
• Four electric car charging stations, the first of its kind for a gas station in Eagle County
The project was far more challenging than just expanding the car wash. In order to carry out the expansion of the car wash building as well as improving access, parking and services, there was a need to acquire additional land, in this case, property owned by the Eagle County School District. Proceeds from the sale of unused land will go to deferred school district maintenance.
