Evans Chaffee busy with Avon renovation projects

AVON — Helping to usher in a new era for Avon, and with the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships quickly approaching, Evans Chaffee Construction Group has been hard at work in town. With five projects completed in the past six months and four more on track to be completed in early 2015, Evans Chaffee has had a hand in some of the most visible renovations and new construction in Avon.

‘TIME OF RESURGENCE’

“When you realize just how much is happening in Avon right now, you feel this sense of energy and progress,” said Andy Halminski, Evans Chaffee co-owner and project manager. “It’s so exciting to be a part of that. This is really a time of resurgence for Avon.”

Halminski ticked off a list of projects the company has been involved with this past year: renovations at The Ritz Carlton, including the new Buffalo Bar, Cigar Bar, Ritz Kids space and Coffee Run; The Westin Riverfront’s Spa Anjali and pool deck; a new Starbucks within The Westin Resort; renovations to McCoy’s in Beaver Creek; a new pedestrian mall in Avon Town Center; a new events pavilion in Nottingham Park; and the Wyndham Resort in the heart of town.

“Those are just the projects in Avon we’ve worked on,” Halminski said. “When you add in what else has been happening in town, it’s truly amazing.”

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

Halminski added that there’s been an increasing urgency to projects, as new ones are finished and people see what the town can become. With ski season and the World Championships around the corner, time is of the essence. He noted that the expansion and remodel of The Westin Riverfront Starbucks went from start to finish in just seven weeks, an extremely quick time.

“As a community, we’re really starting to see the returns from the investments that many Avon business and property owners have made. Whether it’s more dining and shopping options, improved access around town or beautifying our neighborhoods, the residents of Avon are reaping the benefits,” Halminski said. “And when this coming season’s visitors arrive, they’re going to be amazed by some of the transformations and improvements. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
