Fire district hosts final open house on Saturday in Minturn

MINTURN — The Eagle River Fire Protection District is providing fun for the family at its open house Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The final event of the season is in Minturn.

The final open house of the summer includes complimentary interactive displays, games and information as well as hot dogs at the district’s station 5 in Minturn.

Kids will have the chance to squirt a fire hose at a “burning” building, learn about fire apparatus and how firefighters use thermal imaging cameras to locate people in low visibility situations. Adults can learn tips about being prepared for an emergency and creating defensible space around their homes.

The station is located at 95 Pine St.
