Kip Tingle hired as Vail Rec District’s new race coordinator
VAIL — The Vail Recreation District recently announced the hiring of Kip Tingle to the Sports Department. Tingle moved to Vail in 2004 and has worked for the Vail Daily in many capacities for the past 10 years, most recently as sales manager.
As sports coordinator for the Vail Recreation District, Tingle’s responsibilities will include race director for the La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Race Series, managing adult recreation leagues and developing skills and promoting sportsmanship in the youth programs.
‘Excited for the Opportunity’
“I’m excited for the opportunity to join the enthusiastic and wonderful staff at the VRD,” Tingle said. “I look forward to maintaining our successful programs, while implementing new ideas and opportunities for our locals and guests.”
“We’re excited to welcome Kip to the VRD,” said district sports director Joel Rabinowitz. “He clearly stood out in our search and we’re looking forward to the immediate impacts he’ll have with our trail running race series and youth and adult sports programs.”
Originally from Ohio, in 2014 Tingle led a successful Sole Power campaign promoting self-sufficient commuting in Eagle County. He also owns and operates VailVelo.com, a site dedicated to improving cycling awareness in the area. For Tingle, working for the Vail Recreation District is a dream come true. “It’s truly an honor to work closely with athletes in the Vail area and provide opportunities for friendly competition.”
