Local accountant earns certificate of achievement
AVON — Billi Lewis, a certified public accountant with McMahan and Associates, has been awarded the Governmental Certificate of Achievement from the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants.
To earn the certificate, participants complete five eight-hour courses covering the latest rules, regulations and pronouncements in governmental accounting. Those who complete the rigorous coursework acquire a deeper understanding of governmental accounting issues, enhance their competence in the field and demonstrate their dedication and commitment as governmental accounting professionals. Lewis is one of five CPAs in Colorado to receive the society’s inaugural certificate.
“Earning the Governmental Certificate of Achievement requires the kind of intelligence and dedication that we all want to find in the professional advisers with whom we work,” said Michael Jenkins, CPA, managing partner of McMahan and Associates. “We’re proud to have Billi as part of our team.”
