Local condo associations launch major renovations

Daily staff report

EAGLE COUNTY — Two Vail Valley property associations managed by East West Destination Hospitality — the Vail Spa Condominiums in Lionshead Village and Highlands Slopeside in Beaver Creek — are launching major renovations.

Owners at the Vail Spa Condominiums are funding $10 million in upgrades, including a full exterior remodel with new energy-efficient, noise-reducing windows and doors and new finishes in the upper and lower lobbies. The Lionshead Village property is also completely refurbishing its locker, spa and fitness areas, including upgrades to the indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub areas. The renovation will also feature a new solar heating mechanical system for the pool and a refurbishment of all three elevator cars with new digital equipment.

At Beaver Creek’s Highland Slopeside, owners are spending nearly $9 million on exterior upgrades, including a new roof with copper accents, new windows and new doors. The building will also be completely repainted with an updated dark bronze and French Roast color scheme and decorative stone and arched wood beam accents.

Property manager East West Destination Hospitality — which recently rebranded from East West Resorts — is overseeing both renovations. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, East West Destination Hospitality currently manages 65 homeowner associations for more than 13,000 individual owners.
