New Sonnenalp health club opens

Daily staff report

EDWARDS — The Sonnenalp Club in Edwards celebrates the completion of its new, 10,000 square foot health and fitness facility Wednesday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.

“This is a momentous day,” said Johannes Faessler, owner of the Sonnenalp Club. “This new facility illustrates our commitment to the health and wellness of our members. We are so proud of the finished product and cannot wait for our members to see it and experience it first-hand.”

The new facility’s three workout studios will offer 40 to 50 classes per week ranging from yoga and Pilates to TRX and Barre classes. The most technologically advanced cardio and strength equipment on the market today is located in a large, airy studio with glass walls, offering a view of the valley on one side and the golf course and pool deck on the other.

“Every detail has been taken into account in this facility, from the design to the materials to the sound system,” said Shaun Evans, director of health and fitness at the Sonnenalp Club. “We’re going to have to kick people out at the end of the night.”

While the Health and Fitness Center is open to Sonnenalp Club members only, it is also home to Harvest, a new restaurant concept from chef Kelly Liken. Harvest will open to the public in late June.
