New Vail parking alternative added for some pass holders
December 31, 2014
VAIL — Beginning Tuesday, an additional parking option will be available to pink and green pass holders along the North Frontage Road across from the Middle Creek Village Apartments. The 35 spaces will be used to help offset the temporary closure of the soccer field which will be unavailable for permit parking from Friday through March 22 to accommodate the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in February and the Burton U.S. Snowboarding Championships in March.
Vehicles must display the appropriate placard to access the permit-only Frontage Road parking, which will be available daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. The passes are sold to employees of Vail business license holders working a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Additional parking options for those displaced by the soccer field closure include the North Frontage Road across from the West Vail Mall with easy access to the bus stop. Other parking is available on selected days at Donovan Park, 1600 South Frontage Road, and the Vail Nordic Center, 1775 Vail Valley Drive. Visit http://www.vailevent parking.com for availability.
Meanwhile, peak season parking restrictions for blue and green parking passes as well as peak rate pricing for Value Cards will extend through Sunday. On Monday, the passes will be good until the next peak period on Jan. 19 for Martin Luther King Day.
