Seminar on end of life planning comes to Eagle

EAGLE — A seminar on advance directives and pre-planning to support end of life requests will be held at the Eagle Public Library, 600 Broadway St., on Jan. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. The free presentation, Conversations before the Crisis: Intersection of Family, Faith & Policy in Advance Care Planning, will be provided by HomeCare and Hospice of the Valley of Eagle County. Light refreshments will be provided.

Topics to be reviewed include: advanced directive information and objectives, a participatory exercise to begin such a directive through the Five Wishes form, how to approach difficult discussion about the end-of-life process and an introduction to bereavement.

Leading the session for HomeCare and Hospice of the Valley are staff members Andrea Grohmann, HomeCare social worker; Alison Bloom, Hospice social worker; Kristen Finneran, Hospice grief & bereavement services; and Gail Britt, Hospice chaplain.
