Slifer Designs in Denver area publications
EAGLE COUNTY — Slifer Designs senior designer Kellye O’Kelly found one of her projects featured in the pages of Denver Life Home & Design magazine. The featured home, a smart remodel of a condo in Beaver Creek, is elegant and classic — but meant to be lived in.
“This family has five boys between the ages of 6 and 17. This is the family’s escape from the real world but it had to be able to withstand long ski vacations, provide storage for a large family and have a strong aesthetic,” O’Kelly said.
“One of their favorite aspects is that I used their son’s photography as gallery wall in the eat-in kitchen. As a mother, I understand how rewarding it is to see your child’s passion grow. I love incorporating it into the overall design.”
Kim Toms, another Slifer Designs senior designer, was delighted when she found a project of hers splashed in the pages of 5280 Home magazine, a cozy cabin in West Vail. While the footprint of the home is small, the design is extensive and well thought out.
“This project held a special place to me,” Toms said. “The owners had some pieces they wanted incorporated into the design. And the sheer size of the space meant that every design detail had to be well thought out. The home, less than 2,000 square feet, feels much larger than that.”
