Training gym moves to new location
EDWARDS — Local husband-and-wife team John Mark and Laura Seelig opened their hybrid gym brainchild GOAT in March of this year and have just moved the operation to a new, larger location in Edwards Commercial Park.
The gym incorporates the training aspect of high intensity methods and targeted strength training with functional movements to boost performance of mountain athletes and enthusiasts.
NEW AND IMPROVED
Upgrades to the space include new indoor turf for dynamic and explosive movements, upgraded equipment and more space for intensive workouts. They are currently offering a snow sports conditioning program in addition to regular class sessions. Sessions are set up to provide intense and challenging workouts mixed with tips and strategies on training, nutrition and wellness.
The Seeligs are not new to the Vail Valley community as owners and operators of local rafting and outdoor adventure company Lakota Guides. Laura Seelig has certifications as a strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, YogaFit, Pilates MVE Chair, Spin, TRX and StrongFirst SFG1. John Mark Seelig currently competes with the U.S. Men’s Rafting Team and has been involved with fitness since 2001.
GOAT’s new location is next to The Shaggy Ram, across from the dance studio. The gym offers classes six days a week. For more information, go to http://www.goattraining.com or email email@example.com.
While it will be postmaster Elizabeth Turner’s first busy season in Avon, it’s far from her first holiday-shipping crunch.
