Vail Rotary Club donates $11K to local nonprofits
VAIL — The Vail Rotary Club held its 16th annual Labor Day Duck Race on Aug. 31 on Gore Creek in Vail. Thousands of yellow rubber ducks racing down Gore Creek helped raise funds that the Vail Rotary will use to support its local and international projects.
Vail Rotary does not do this alone. At their regular meeting on Sept. 17, the Vail Rotary Club distributed a total of $11,362.50 to eight valley organizations that sold ducks to raise money for their own causes, earning 50 percent of their total sales. The following groups were present to receive checks: Edwards Rotary Club, Small Champions, Western Eagle Valley Rotary and Eagle Valley Senior Life.
