Vail Town Council will review Booth Creek plan
VAIL — The Vail Town Council Tuesday will review the proposed final design concept for renovation of Booth Creek Park at its regular meeting. The item is listed sixth on the meeting agenda. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers. There will be an opportunity for public comment.
Council is being asked to review and approve the proposed design concept so the project can move on to the town’s planning and environmental commission and design review board in preparation for construction next spring.
The town staff has been working on the design concepts since 2014 following a series of community meetings that were used to collect ideas and preferences for the renovation. The recommended design includes:
• Natural areas.
• Parallel parking on Manns Ranch Road.

• A looped paved path using the existing bike path.
• Open turf grass area as a significant design element.
• Double, hard-surface, post tensioned concrete tennis court.
• Playground with natural elements and artistic components.
• Public restrooms.
• A picnic shelter, with other picnic tables, benches and bike racks throughout the park.
Booth Creek Park is the last of Vail’s six neighborhood parks in line for a major renovation. The town has budgeted $2.45 million in 2016 to improve the quality, character and functionality of the park to be consistent with the types of recreation facilities available in Vail’s other neighborhood parks.
