EAGLE COUNTY — Local emergency services agencies will host the 13th annual Ride in Remembrance on Friday. The event, featuring motorcycle and classic car owners, as well numerous participants from local police, fire and ambulance services, starts at 10:30 a.m. at Donovan Pavilion in Vail.

The ride — which can be a pretty long parade of vehicles — leaves Vail at 11:30 a.m. and heads for Freedom Park in Edwards. There, participants will listen to a brief presentation from Eagle River Fire Protection District Chief Karl Bauer.

The point of the ride is to honor emergency services people who died in the line of duty: deputies Oscar William Meyer and John Fletcher Clark, Vail police officer Ryan Jay Cunningham, Gypsum firefighter Cruz Carvajal and air ambulance pilot Tim Benway.

To participate in the ride, RSVP to Moses Gonzales by calling 970-376-6952.
