Annual winter concert at Battle Mountain High

Andrew Harley

As the powder days have grown more legitimate, the Battle Mountain High School concert band and concert choir have been preparing for the annual winter concert.

The program begins at Battle Mountain High School today at 7 p.m., and runs for 45 minutes.

The choir and band will be performing standard vocal and concert band repertoire with some holiday numbers mixed in.

“It’s going to be a good show,” said Dave Laub, Battle Mountain High School’s director of music. “We have a young choir this year. They sang the national anthem at Mile High for a Colorado Rapids soccer game, and they did very well. This will be their first performance since, and I anticipate it will be good.

“The concert band is playing much more difficult stuff this year. This is a very hard-working group, and I think they’ll put on a great show.”
