Q: Why is the speed limit 35 mph on Squaw Creek Road in Edwards? This street has a very low population density, and I find the 35 mph speed limit quite puzzling given that the limit is 45 mph around the corner on Highway 6 in a very densely populated area.A: The issue isn’t population density as much as it is road design.”Squaw Creek Road was built and designed for 35 mph,” said Eagle County Road and Bridge Department Director Brad Higgins. “The state highway is designed for higher speeds, and it’s straight as a string through there.”- S.M.
