April Fool’s Correction: Obama not god
CORDILLERA, Colorado ” A $2,000-a-plate fundraiser for Barack Obama held Saturday in Cordillera was not accompanied by a “rainbow of pure golden light over the mountain” as was originally reported in the Fail Daily Monday.
Daily reporter Garvin Hipslong originally reported the rainbow in the story headlined “Immaculate Reception for Obama, the Chosen One.” Hipslong later recanted, saying he was swayed by Obama’s personal radiance and “one too many Sex on the Pool Table” cocktails at the home of Whippy and Marvin Doughslinger.
Hipslong has resigned in the wake of the erroneous report, and Fail Daily Editor Rufus Burnbridge has asserted no more “Obama hallucinations” will be reported in the paper.
“People say the media give Obama god-like status,” Burnbridge said. “It’s not true. He’s just a superman. I mean, a man.”
