Arild Remmereit guest leads Dallas Symphony at Bravo!

VAIL – Friday and Saturday, Arild Remmereit guest conducts the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for closing weekend of their residency at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Ford Amphitheater. Remmereit will lead the Dallas Symphony in a performance of Glinka’s “Russlan and Ludmila Overture.” Pianist Shai Wosner will join the orchestra for a performance of Mozart’s “Piano Concerto No. 23.” Winner of a 2005 Avery Fisher Career Grant and a 2005 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award, pianist Shai Wosner has been called “an artist to follow keenly.” The Scandinavian conductor will then conclude the performance with a work from his part of the world, Sibelius’ “Second Symphony.”Saturday’s closing night of the Dallas Symphony in Vail, led by Remerreit, will include Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Tsar’s Bride Overture” and Mendelssohn’s “Symphony No. 3, Scottish.” Violinist Chee-Yun and virtuoso cellist Alisa Weilerstein will join the orchestra for a performance of Brahms’ “Double Concerto for Violin and Cello.”
Most recently, Remmereit guest conducted with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony, Milan’s Filarmonica della Scala, the Vienna Symphony and the Munich Philharmonic.Vail, Colorado
