Arrowhead skier died from chest trauma, coroner says

BEAVER CREEK, CO Colorado

BEAVER CREEK ” The skier who died after a skiing accident on an intermediate ski run Friday died as a result of chest trauma, Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis said.

June Kang, 65, suffered major injuries to her chest after a fall and hitting some sort of hydrant, Bettis said. The injury was severe enough that she died shortly afterward.

Kang was transported from the Golden Bear run at Beaver Creek around 11:15 a.m. Friday by ski patrol. She was pronounced dead when she arrived at Vail Valley Medical Center.
