Art exchange event is Friday in Edwards

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

EDWARDS, Colorado – The Alpine Arts Center will host “HeART of Hope” at 6 p.m. Friday. The Founder of Children Inspiring Hope, Amy Gaylor, will be in town to share videos from this last exchange between students in the valley and Ghana, as well as the art shared between these communities.

Local professional photographer Steve Chinn traveled to Ghana, West Africa in October and November with Children Inspiring Hope and captured the spirit, and faces of hope, being shared among these children. A selection of photos will also be shared. Colorful handmade recycled glass beads and batik bags from Ghana may also be purchased – great Valentine gifts made with love supporting connecting these children globally.

Vail Valley students have learned firsthand their ability to create peace and learn together with students across the globe. Red Sandstone Elementary fourth- and fifth-graders, and Vail Mountain School sixth- and seventh-graders, have been exchanging arts and education projects for the last two school years with students in Ghana through Children Inspiring Hope.
