Art installation in Vail

Working on-site this week at West Meadow Drive, east of Vail Public Library, artist Ben Roth, with Sam Macke, are creating a temporary environmental art installation. Using felled diseased spruce trees, the installation will capture the raw beauty of nature. Known for his 2010 beetle killed lodge pole pine installation "Singing Trees" in Ford Park, his creations engage the viewer with their curious sense of design and space. Meet the artist Friday, June 23, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the site adjacent to the bike path for free cookies and lemonade. Visit for more information.
