AVON — The Art of the Valley Gallery in Avon, in conjunction with the Vail Valley Art Guild, will hold a reception on Friday for it’s “Animals and Birds” exhibit. There will be more than 50 paintings, photographs and ceramics works from local artists and photographers on display.

The Vail Valley Art Guild, which is just more than two years old, currently has more than 180 active members residing within the Vail Valley, with two themed exhibits planned per month.

Local Artists

There was an overwhelming response to the animals and birds theme, including local animals such as horses and Rocky Mountain birds. Many local photographers have captured wild animals with such clarity that you feel they are right next to you.

Some of the well-traveled Vail Valley Art Guild members included artwork depicting highland cattle, Asian koi carp and a red panda. View these works and others and listen to music from the Chamber Music Society at the reception on Friday at Art of the Valley Gallery in Avon.
