VAIL — A native of Ogden, Utah, David Jackson’s interest in art began at an early age, and he has been working as a professional artist for over 40 years. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree through Utah State University. After teaching high school art for 27 years, Jackson retired in the spring of 2000 to devote more time to his craft.

FINDING INSPIRATION IN NATURE

Jackson is a strong supporter of numerous wildlife and charitable organizations. And while he is well known for his accurate depictions of wildlife and western landscapes, his work is diverse and includes a wide variety of subjects.

A richly colored, impressionistic style has afforded him the opportunity of showing his work in private collections and exhibitions throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. He has crafted monumental bronze sculptures for Weber State University, numerous high schools, private individuals and businesses. He receives inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of his home and studio in Mountain Green, Utah.
