BEAVER CREEK — Nationally-renowned painter and Colorado resident Don Sahli enjoys taking to the slopes with his paint and brush. It is not uncommon to see him painting on the side of a ski hill. Sahli’s work contains echoes of the Russian Impressionist masters. He is the last apprentice to the famous Russian colorist, Sergi Bongart. His subjects celebrate the colorful and spectacular west, while his use of color, light and spontaneity reveal his training in the Russian School of painting.

Sahli will spend today through Sunday plein air painting in and around the Beaver Creek area. Art enthusiasts are encouraged to visit with the artist at Paderewski Fine Art in Beaver Creek from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, where Sahli will bring his finished masterpieces as he completes them, so guests can appreciate the result of a hard day’s field work.

Paderewski Fine Art is located in Beaver Creek, on the Plaza level of the Hyatt, across from the ice rink. Call 970-949-6036 or visit http://www.paderewskifineart.com for more information.
