Artist reception at Avon library

Celine Krueger came to the Vail Valley in 1967 with her husband and children, and her art career took off when her youngest child left for college. She enjoyed watercolor, acrylics and other mediums. Krueger had heart surgery in July of 2007 and passed away on Oct. 2, 2007, after an infection developed in the wound. Her artwork has not been displayed publicly since then. For the entire month of March, the Avon Library will display Krueger’s artwork in the big conference room. The paintings on display are from her family’s collection of favorites. Read more about Krueger in “Women of Vail: Those Who Walked This Bridge” by Elaine Kelton and Carolyn Pope. The library is holding a reception to celebrate the work tonight from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Call 970-949-6797 for more information.
