Artist W.A. Rump showing in Glenwood
1. When did you know you wanted to become an artist? Painting appealed to me when I realized that I could say more in one painting than one short story.2. What’s the inspiration behind your work?
As far as inspiration is concerned, I would have to say that one painting begets another and when I finish a “perfect” painting I have to perfect it another way.3. What is your most memorable exhibit? The most memorable exhibit consisted of a series of photographs which showed a lone man on the fringes of society longing to belong. It was in the National Museum of Art in Copenhagen.
4. Which three artists, living or dead, would you like to spend a weekend working with? As far as three artists, two come immediately to mind. Salvador Dali and Albrecht Durer. The third would be a composite of any graphic design artist.5. Whats the message you would like to communicate through your art? With the majority of my paintings, something different can be seen from four different angles, and life mirrors that with the idea there is more than one different perspective or opinion to consider.
